Berita itu muncul setelah Weibo memblokir akun pertukaran mata uang cryptocurrency global utama di pertengahan November. Pada saat itu, halaman Weibo mengenai Tron Foundation juga memblokir akun Weibo-nya, menampilkan pemberitahuan yang sama :
” Akun itu telah diblokir karena pelanggaran hukum, peraturan dan ketentuan yang relevan dari Konvensi Komunitas Weibo. ”

Jelas, komunitas Twitter tidak senang dengan berita ini. Beberapa suara keluar untuk mendukung Sun, mengklaim ini hanyalah bukti relevansi proyek.
Yang lain dengan cepat menyebut mata uang kripto sebagai penipuan, tampaknya tidak terpengaruh oleh masalah besar tentang sensor. Adapun pasar itu sendiri, harga TRON memang mengalami sedikit penurunan dikarenakan berita itu tetapi itu hanyalah sebagian dari rebound.
Terlepas dari mereka menggunakan TRON atau tidak, banyak yang khawatir tentang apa artinya ini bagi seluruh komunitas mata uang terdesentralisasi.
Jika China menyensor media sosial hanya karena mereka tidak menyukai apa yang dipromosikan seseorang, maka pemerintah mana pun bisa.
Sangat mengkhawatirkan untuk berpikir negara-negara besar lainnya seperti Rusia atau AS dapat mengikutinya. Semoga kekuatan teknologi ini akan menang tapi untuk sekarang, kita akan terus melihat berita seperti ini keluar sampai pemerintah merangkul cryptocurrency atau menghilangkannya sama sekali.
